Excuses Excuses

The reason I havent blogged my food in a while is because I have been eating horrible food for the past few days. I just need to focus and get my head to work in the right direction!!!!!

Anyways so far today (Dec 11th) I had some Cheerios for Breakfast and a cup of coffee. Mid - morning I had two pieces of Godiva Sugar Free Dark Chocolate and some Granola.
Will probably update as I go along.

Dec 8

Ah ok!! 6th was my wedding anniversary and I had a seven course French meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So anyways.. This morning I had a scary fone call from my dad who mentioned about some of the women folk of my family having diabetes. He mentioned that I should be careful not to contract it. While I was always aware of it and it stood like a sword over my head him mentioning it scared me!!!! So just as I am becoming concious of food I put into my body he just reinforced me belief..


And a big credit to this blog is that I have lost one pound since Dec 3rd...Lets hope this goes on for some more time..

For Breakfast I had some Frosted Mini Wheats and Coffee. For mid-morning I had some chips and orange juice. I am planning some white bean soup for lunch. Let me see how it goes..

Dec 4

I am super proud of my diet today. I started out early today with a quarter cup of coffee and later one with half a banana and a glass of OJ. Lil later I had a single slice of Health Nut with mustard and Feta. Mid-morning I had a Chex Mix bar which was called Turtle. I wouldn't quite call it sweet but it was really nice and kept me going for quite a bit. For lunch I had a Barley and Bean Soup and a salad. With Olive Oil Vineggarate. I skipped the usual bread roll that they usually offer along with it. I also skipped the usual mayo, mustard etc packets they keep. I started craving a sweet right after and was also left with a lasting onion taste from the salad. So I dug out my Banana Nut Bread Odwalla bar which I was saving for in between classes. And then that that is all. I had a whole lot of calorie free water fountain water which I really enjoyed. Its amazing how sweet water is tasting these days.

For dinner I think I shall have some cereal and milk. I am craving some milk at the end of the day. As I am writing this post, I am super hungry...

Dec 3

Ok.. I would like to think I am making an improvement..

Breakfast Honey Bunches of Oats, Half a cup of coffee and a sip of OJ..

Lunch Salad, Spinach Soup, Brown Rice and Green Beans..

Mid-Evening - Coffee and an Oatmeal Raisin

Evening - Bowl of Soup and Cereal.


I know, I know..Lots of food. Ok here goes.. Tommorow lets skip the mid-evening. Let me see if I am upto it..

No gym..that is bad!!

Dec 2

I just realized.. I eat tons of food..Today I was extremely sick.. I spent the whole day blowing my nose and feeling woozy..

Morning started off with a glass of OJ and my Honey Bunches of Oats. Mid-morning I had some sugar snap peas.. I must say I had an interesting lunch.. Split green peas, Brown Rice and more sugar snap peas. I ate a huge serving of Yogurt.

Mid afternoon I had half cup of coffee and an Oatmeal Raisin cookie and an Odwalla bar. Mid evening I had 2 slices of Health Nut bread with Feta Cheese and mustard. For dinner I had some Rasam.

No fruit which is a bad thing. I need to improve on that. I also need to improve my afternoon snacks.. I should cut down drastically on that front!!!!

Different Attempt

Ok.. I know this started our as something as else. But I think I am going to help myself with this blog instead. All of us turn to food for different reasons and mine was boredom and homesickness. Now I need to kick the habit. I am going to try to update what I eat each day or to be honest as often as I can. Let me see if this helps.. If there are any other women folk like this give a shout out.

I started our this morning with a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats and a coffee. The reason( I am being honest here) is coz I bought me my creamer and so I had to make myself some coffee.. Mid - morning I had some orange juice mixed with Fiber Sure. For lunch I had myself some brown rice and a frozen Peas and Onions. Mid - afternoon I had some fishies (Gold fish crackers) and Diet Coke(Caffeine free). I am a huge fan of Diet Coke. Its almost my weakness. Dinner most likely is a fruit and some cereal.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a load of food. Oh something I forgot to mention, I am a vegetarian thinking about becoming vegan but I love my milk too much.. Let me see how long this will keep up..

pongal or upma or pooma or upgal

Well in case u wondering what the tittle is about... This dish is technically pongal but it can be a variation of upma also..

stuff u need

rava

pesara pappu

mustard

karuvepaku

boiling water

pepper

Roast rava in a pan (with or without oil). boil water separately at the same time.. Roast the rava till u get a nice smell (yes u can actually smell it) and add pepper and mustard. In the boiling water add pesara pappu. Remove rava from fire and slowly add it to the water mixing at the same time.. add salt and u are gud to go...
